The man, from Bedford, Massachusetts, had been on the run for an alleged home invasion and kidnapping that spanned three states.

According to the Massachusetts U.S. Attorney's  Office, Julian Field, 24, was nabbed by FBI and local law enforcement and charged in connection with the kidnapping that began in Concord, Massachusetts and ended in Connecticut.

Field was charged with one count of kidnapping and will appear in federal court in Key West,  on Friday, the DA's Office said. He will then be brought back to Massachusetts at a later date.

The incident began around 3:45 a.m., Monday, Feb. 4, when the Concord Police Department received a report of a home invasion that occurred hours earlier on Sunday evening.

The victim reported that during the early evening, a man entered his home, held him at knifepoint and forced him to drive the suspect to locations in Western Massachusetts, where he attempted to buy drugs and then to a train station in New Haven, the court documents said.

The kidnapping ended when Field got out of the victim's car in New Haven at around midnight Monday, police said.

Field had been sought by Bedford Police earlier Sunday in connection with a disturbance in that town.

The victim then drove back to his home in Concord and contacted the police department. The resident was not injured.

Field was ultimately tracked to Key West where he was arrested.

The charge of kidnapping provides for a sentence of up to life in prison, up to five years of supervised release and a fine of $250,000, the DA's Office said.
